Or, torsion box with diagonal braces to the existing deck. i'd like to do the diagonal braces attached to the existing deck rim joist but i don't know if there is too much overhang? from bottom of deck rim joist to top of the deck where the box would sit on is 10.5" so the diagonal brace goes out and supports 10.5" horizontally.
