Here S My Volt S Rebuild Project Gm Volt Forum Around one month ago, i bought a 2013 chevy volt on iaa auction in california and brought it to texas to rebuild it. thanks to a lot of reading and procedures on this forum was this possible (thanks to wot and other members who posted their problems) and that's why i want to post my project and. 15 votes, 22 comments. truei've done 4 or 5 battery swaps on volts. if you want to use the car now even with the degraded battery you should have the shop go into the hpcm2, and clear the secured high voltage dtc's. they then need to go into the control functions for that module and command the high voltage contactor open reason reset to get the battery to close. all of this needs to be done.

Gm Product Trainer Here With My First Ever Volt Gm Volt Forum Ive a vaxhall ampera which is the same as a chevy volt gen1. has anyone heard of projects aftermarket batteries to replace volt ampera batteries, i figure modern battery cells are 2 to 3 times as energy dense as the volt‘s original batteries, with a new battery pack range would be over 100. There is no new high voltage battery part number in the gm parts database. they don't have any new batteries and they are not making any more new volt batteries, they do not exist. what the dealer did tell here is that there is a gm parts database entry for a refurbished battery, put it has no ship date and is listed as a future product. Hey everyone, so my becm went out one month after my warranty expired, and i'm no longer living in the us. i decided someone had to take the plunge and do a becm replacement with full documentation of the process, so here are the video links! part 1: disassembly and becm exchange: part 2. The second time, the dealer mechanic spent hours on the phone with gm tech support and recommended a full battery replacement. i reasoned that the battery was probably fine because the mygreenvolt readouts looked pretty normal and i could throw it in mountain mode and charge that way.

The first gen volt is overall good. the second gen has some unresolved issue that plagues a lot of them and gm either won't fix or doesn't have a fix for. this is from my vague recollection. i was and still sort of am eyeing a honda clarity. Don't get excited i'm not messing with my volt's battery. but my neighbor's prius suddenly gave him all kinds of red warning lights one morning (including a giant red exclamation point!) and it turned out that one of the battery's cells had gone bad. of course the prius was six months beyond its 8 years 100,000 mile warranty.
