Ryzen 7 5800x3d high temperatures recently, i build my pc with a ryzen 7 5800x3d and the rtx 4070ti, it's really great in everything, but i notice that the cpu gets really hot when playing.

Are These Temps Normal On 5800x3d R Pcmasterrace The 5800x3d has a default ppt limit of around 140w, so it actually will get up to 140w power consumption. this behavior isn't unusual with amd cpus, my 5600x goes up to 77 80w, even though it's rated as a 65w tdp processor. My settings are 30 in co, 5fans in, 2 out with 800 1600rpm min. i have aio ekwb elite 280mm mounted on top. pump is on 80% but even on 100% are temps same. i tried 3 dif thermal pastes, arctic mx 5 mx 4 and thermal grizzly. my airflow should be ok because even without side panels my temps are same (maybe 1 2°c dif).

My settings are 30 in co, 5fans in, 2 out with 800 1600rpm min. i have aio ekwb elite 280mm mounted on top. pump is on 80% but even on 100% are temps same. i tried 3 dif thermal pastes, arctic mx 5 mx 4 and thermal grizzly. my airflow should be ok because even without side panels my temps are same (maybe 1 2°c dif). Just upgraded from a 3600 to 5800x3d. on boot, temps spikes to 85c or higher, and then drop to about 35 40c if im doing absolutely nothing. casual usage like browsing apps, using chrome sees the temps hang around 45 55c with spikes to 60 . a few mins of rdr2 had my temps spikes up to the high 70s peaking above 80. The 5800x3d’s rated for continuous operation at its 90 °c throttle and, if it’s just bumping into a temperature limit, what i’ve noticed is zen 3 moves the power to the next core in the performance order. so there’s not really a cpu side functional concern apparent here.
