Oppo Find X2 Pro Review Powerful Super Premium Pricey Hothardware The oppo seems to still be playing the disc, but it looks like the yamaha is struggling to lock on the signal. as occasionally music will come out for a second or 2, then off again for a few minutes. i played with return audio and some other settings on the yamaha, but no change. The schiit modi mb that i use sounds better then the oppo and it's around $400, i think. of course it's the individuals system that is ultimately to be evaluated rather than any single component. so often, outboard components sound better than the onboard ones, dacs, phono pre's what have you.

Strangely, in reviews on bd players from oppo, pioneer and or other brands, it's been claimed that some players have better movie sound quality than that for cd, sacd and other audio only playback, and vice versa. assuming this is true, i would not be using either oppo for cd, sacd or any music only purpose. I believe the oppo’s proprietary wifi dongle can only handle 2.4 while the roku can do 5.0 speeds via wifi. btw, aside from being much cheaper on the reseller market, the 103 and 105 will decode and play hdcds, the newer 200 series oppos do not decode hdcds and will only play such discs as standard cds.
