United way of portage county and the community foundation of central wisconsin have partnered to establish the portage county covid 19 relief fund (pccrf).the fund will provide flexible resources to organizations assisting individuals who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak. The portage county covid 19 relief fund is a collaboration of the community foundation of central wisconsin and united way of portage county. together, with the support of many generous individuals and businesses, this fund has granted more than $430,000. The community foundation of central wisconsin and united way of portage county have provided over $250,000 in funding to organizations through the portage county covid 19 relief fund. the fund was established seven weeks ago to address critical needs for social organizations and nonprofits negatively impacted by the covid 19 outbreak. The community foundation of central wisconsin inspires charitable giving by connecting people and resources to enhance portage and waushara counties now and for future generations. Over the last nine years, the community foundation has distributed more than $332,000 to starke county nonprofits through the starke united fund. the fund will continue as part of united way of porter county’s grant services and starke county representation will serve as part of the grants committee to ensure that local needs are top priority.
